  • Dr. Ravi Chopra, Chairperson

    Dr Ravi Chopra is the founder of People’s Science Institute, Dehra Doon and Managing Trustee of Himalaya Foundation, New Delhi. At PSI, Dr Chopra and his colleagues have developed approaches to put science and technology in the service of India’s poorest people. As a researcher, Dr. Chopra has focused on the interactions between technology and society and, environment and development. He helped produce the first citizens’ report on “The State of India’s Environment” in 1982. Ravi Chopra has worked for four decades in the field of development and has helped establish several organizations. The issues addressed by them include involving youth in India’s development, using science and technology for empowering the poor, protection of democratic and human rights, rehabilitating survivors of natural and human-made disasters and creative education of children, including the mentally handicapped.
    Dr Chopra got his technical education in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay) and Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey.

  • Dr. B. C. Barah, Trustee

    Dr. B. C. Barah was the NABARD Chair Professor at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He was a principal scientist (economics) at NCAP, India leading the theme area of Agricultural Growth, Adjustment and Outlook. During the past decade, Dr. Barah has been deeply involved in mainstreaming pro-poor agro-ecological innovations such as SRI, SWI and SCI in PPP mode.
    Dr. Barah served various institutions including the International crops research Institute for semi-arid & topics (ICRISAT), Central University of Hyderabad, NABARD, Mumbai, Cornell University, New York, Duke University, Durham, NC, USA, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Manila, Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Tokyo,
    Barah has a Ph.D. degree in applied econometrics and agriculture. Dr. B. C. Barah published a number of research papers in national, local and international journals, technical reports/bulletins and books

  • Ms. R. V. Jayapadma, Trustee

    Ms. R. V. Jayapadma is a rural management professional with eighteen years of experience working with non-government organizations, bi-lateral and multilateral organizations and academic institutions. She is currently the Learning Facilitator at the Local Governance Initiative and Network (LOGIN), a knowledge platform and resource network on decentralization and local governance supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Jaya has been teaching in the areas of governance and sustainable development at various academic institutions and has worked for over a decade with community based NGOs, notably Adithi in Dumka, Jharkhand and Gram Vikas in Odisha.
    She is founder member of TREE Society which imparts training in business and enterprise to rural entrepreneurs, staff of government and non-government organisations and is part of the Management Committee of Timbaktu Collective, an NGO based in Anatapur, Andhra Pradesh. Her professional interest and expertise spans strategic and gender sensitive planning; programme management; monitoring and evaluation; capacity building; fundraising and communications.
    Jaya has a Masters degree from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Gujarat, and a Bachelor degree in Economics from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata. As a Chevening Scholar, she has undergone a course in Environment Management at the Institute for Development Policy and Management, Manchester, UK. She is conversant in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Bangla and Oriya.

    Sister Rosita is a rural development professional associated with Catholic Health Association Jharkhand Bihar and Amdaman (CHABIJ) as Director. She is based at Ranchi.

  • Mr. Niraj Kumar Verma, Trustee

    Mr Niraj Kumar Verma is associated with ATMA, Gaya as Deputy Project Director

  • Mr. Anil Kumar Verma, Managing Trustee

    Mr. Anil Kumar Verma is the Chief Functionary of PRAN. He set up the Gaya project of PRADAN, which later was spun off from PRADAN and has created the new organisation PRAN.

  • Mr. Devesh Kumar Srivastav, Staff Nominee

    Mr. Devesh has a Masters degree in Business Administration (Rural Development) from G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, University of Allahabad. He works as Executive in PRAN.

  • Shweta Tripathi,
